This course has been created by Developing the Young Workforce North Highland (DYWNH) for Senior Phase Students in the six High Schools within Caithness & Sutherland.

The schools are part of the DYW programme, which is designed to help bring Business practices into Education, thus giving students a greater insight of the business world and preparing you prior to entering the World of Work.

If you have opted to take part in your schools Work Experience programme, then you will be offered a period of time in a workplace. This short on-line course will give you an insight into industry Health and Safety in the Workplace and what to expect during your work placement.

Once successfully completed you will receive a certificate confirming completion of this “In-school” Health and Safety course, which you can share with a perspective employer to show you have some knowledge of workplace Health & Safety.

Please note: You will need the following items to do the Health and safety course:

  • Headphones or some way to listen to sound,
  • Access to a printer,
  • Microsoft Office or equivalent software.
